rizedale Lodge is set on the edge of the magnificent Grizedale Forest the origins of which date back to Monastic times and the name itself hints at the old Norse name for the Wild Boar. The countryside presents an ever-changing tapestry of colour, especially in Autumn. Deer can be glimpsed in the forest and there is a fascinating variety of bird and wildlife to be observed. Few places offer as complete a sense of escape yet are also as easily reachable as Grizedale where city and stress seem to belong to another world. Certainly, the stars shine more brightly here! |
